This location is one of five New York City cafés opened by the rapidly expanding company, which has also established six locations in Michigan and one in Arizona, with its flagship café planned for Manhattan’s Herald Square. Moka & Co. prides itself on its unique coffee blends, described as organic, terrace-grown, handpicked, sun-dried, and sustainably sourced, aligning with the brand’s motto, “grounded in history.” According to CEO Numan Ali, the café aims to redefine coffee culture by sharing Yemen’s historic coffee legacy while promoting sustainability in the industry.

The diverse menu at Moka & Co. offers a wide array of hot and cold coffee beverages, including creative combinations enhanced by pistachio, saffron, cinnamon, and black cardamom. Notable drinks include Turkish coffee served in elegant glassware, Qishr with ginger and cinnamon, and Mufawar, a creamy, spiced beverage featuring steamed milk. The signature Moka Spice Latte encapsulates the café’s essence, blending black cardamom, cinnamon, chocolate, and ginger in a delightfully creamy and aromatic drink.

Desserts are bountiful, with selections like croissants streaked green or pink for either pistachio or strawberry. For better or worse, pistachio is a one-note samba in the food, from crumbles in a vanilla mousse cake to famed Dubai chocolate bars.—Pamela Silvestri
